Week 5
Building a Google Site

Matariki

Link

What a fantastic day! I have really enjoyed learning to make a site. The deep dive into multi modal modes was very useful and has me thinking of the way I present information with my class. I have seen the reading resource before and had a go at setting up slide for a deep dive into a reading topic
however I think I like the google site better.

  1. Kia ora Bronwyn,
So glad you enjoyed the creating of a site. I agree that while slides are great, moving to a site gives more flexibility and options to engage learners.
Looking forward to being able to see your site - I can't as yet!

How great to read of your excitement with the session today. Multi modal sites are such a wonderful way to get students excited about learning and I could definitely see them working with your class. Looking forward to seeing what you created.

I was particularly interested to read your opinion about multimodal sites and the way they can be used to provide resources to excite children about learning. I was particularly interested to see you were looking at making a Matariki site which is something we have worked our way through as a whole school. The resource we have compiled school wide for students from Year 1 to 8. If you look at our Edmund Hillary School www.edmundhillary.school.nz, site under the Learning Tab you will find what we have done with the help of 2 sessions with the Woolf Fisher Research Team. Our children are really enjoying learning about Matariki for the last two weeks of this term. Good luck with all your great mahi. Arohanui Kataraina
